Escatologia

4 ECTS / Semestral / Português
1. Understanding the Christological centrality of the scatological content and interpreting the "eschaton" based upon Christ; 2. Identifying the main authors and their contributions towards renewing contemporary scatology, while valuing the ecumenical dimension; 3. Deepening the biblical foundation, in the OT and NT, on the scatological issues (hope, promise eternal life, resurrection, final judgement), taking into account the continuity and novelty of Christian hope and Jewish hope; 4. Understanding the history of the formulations / Church's Magisterium positions on eschatology and knowing how to interpret them according to the hermeneutical criterion of "hierarchy of truths"; 5. Interpreting the content of Christian hope (eternal life, resurrection, Heaven, Purgatory, Hell) as metaphors and symbols of relational states, that are founded in Christ, overcoming the traditional representations marked by their excessive imaginary and spatial dimensions.
