The Unit aims to provide an overview of the historical dynamics of the contemporary era in order to analyze the role of Catholicism and the place of theology in secular societies. The UC focuses on the changes that took place from the liberal revolutions to the crisis of Western modernity, with the processes of colonization, decolonization and post-colonization on a global scale.
