Alex Villas Boas, scientific coordinator and principal researcher at the Research Centre of Theology and Religious Studies (CITER UCP) gave a conference titled «Theology and Literature» at the Cathedra Carlo Maria Martini in the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC Rio), under the coordination of Profª Maria Clara Bingemer, on May 12, 2020. Alex Villas Boas addressed the poetical and political unity in Antiquity, present also in Patristic thought. In this way, Literature has an important relation with the philosophical thinking, promoting inspiration in the exercise of reflecting reality. Literature run as a form of spirituality and makes Ancient Philosophy seen as spiritual exercise. Using Michel de Certeau´s category of unpredictability he analyses the pandemic phenomenon between Saramago´s Blindness Essay and Pope Francis Extraordinary Moment of Prayer “Urbi et Orbi” Blessing.
