Reading Christian Latin Texts (Seminar)

1.Reinforce and link curricular skills of Latin morphology and syntax to the student's concrete life, by applying it to interlinear translation and in the recitation of Latin passages that are particularly representative of ecclesial life and persist in the cultural context of its daily context (liturgy, theology, history, fine arts). 2. Explore how Latin is an indispensable mediation to understand our cultural context, in particular the ecclesial one. 3. Acquaint students with other Latin texts most frequented by fine arts, namely music, and with local epigraphy. 4. Take advantage of a compared reading of vernacular liturgical versions in order to discover the corresponding consecrated Formulas and alert to a critical philological sense. 5. Finally, to provide the students with a journey through the diversity of Christian Latin Genres, through this or another similar sample.
