History and Theology of Religions

A) History of Religions: Each student must: 1. Have a comprehensive view of the religious phenomenon in all its richness and diversity in terms of both time and space; 2. Have an introductory and reasoned knowledge on the non-Christian religions, drawing mainly from a textual and historical point of view, with emphasis on Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism; 3. Master the essential glossary of expressions particular to each religion studied and know how to define and place them into the correct tradition. B) Theology of Religions: 1. To highlight the changes observed during the last decades, especially since the Second Vatican Council; 2. To provide an overview and analysis criteria of the current debate on a theology of religions; 3. To point out the main aspects in terms of requirements and difficulties within the interreligious dialogue.
