Ancient Philosophy

- To acquire a concise and contextualized view of the philosophical reflection development throughout the Ancient Age: its main authors and works, movements, themes and notions.
- Contact with the ancient philosophers’ texts, providing a rigorous interpretation
- Promote the discovery and critical recreation of the conceptions developed by the ancient thinkers, valuing them as meditations to the construction of a personal reflection itinerary, and of an authentic humanistic paideia.
- Highlight the dialectical, thematic, conceptual and cultural links between the ancient thought and the present.
- Develop oral and written communicative and argumentative competence, through the central problems of the philosophers of this time.
- Implement in the class the interest in studying and deepening the Ancient Philosophy, the attitude of sharing research, as well as the spirit of mutual help in the whole teaching-learning process.
