Issues of Theological Anthropology

6 ECTS / Semester / Português

It is intended, first of all, that students are able to identify the main elements of a biblical anthropology, as developed by Jewish and Christian traditions. Based on this assumption, the intention of this Course Unit is for students to be able to relate this anthropological matrix to some of the contemporary anthropological challenges, such as those posed by post-humanism, technology and ecology. In this sense, the main objective is to develop in students the ability to critically evaluate traditional theological anthropology, through a confrontation with external positions. Bearing in mind that EMRC teachers, in a school context, should be able to critically assess both the Christian matrix and the proposals that circulate in a plural society, it is considered that this approach will make a significant contribution to creating appropriate skills in future teachers.
