- Gain a more in-depth knowledge on issues pertaining to hermeneutics which are particularly present in Mariology; - Present a global view of Mary’s place in the history of salvation; - Substantiate the diverse doctrinal aspects proposed by the Church about Mary; - Understand  the implications of the ecumenical point of view to the Catholic’s way of perceiving  Mary; - Supply interpretation methods for aspects pertaining to Marian devotion.
