Research line: Theology, Values and Social Dynamics (TVSD)

Tiago Abalroado holds a PhD in Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship by ISCTE, Postgraduate in Management - Marketing by Évora University and Undergraduate in Business Administration by Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics. He is CEO in UNITATE – Social Economy Network (2013 - present) and in UDIPSS-Évora (Évora District Union of Social Solidarity Private Institutions) (2015 - present) and Executive Board Member in Cáritas Arquidiocesana de Évora (2016 - present). He was Technical Coordinator of "Generate Evolution" - CLDS 3G - Redondo (2015-2016) and General Secretary of Cáritas Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Vila Viçosa (2012-2015). He is a trainer, consultant and member of the Portuguese Economists Order, the Christian Association of Entrepreneurs and Managers (ACEGE) and the Portuguese Association of Marketing Professionals (APPM). Regarding his recent research, in 2017 he published his PhD thesis entitled "Value Creation in the Strategic Management of Church Social Institutions in Portugal", and is currently developing his postdoctoral project in Theology entitled "The Organizational Strategy in the Church Social Pastoral in Portugal", at the Research Centre for Theology and Religious Studies of the Portuguese Catholic University.

Post-doc project: The Organizational Strategy in the Church Social Pastoral in Portugal

The problem underlying this research lies in the understanding, through the intersection between Practical Theology and Management, of the way in which the perception of ecclesial leaders on the socio-charitable action of the Church in Portugal can fill the organizational gaps which characterize the intervention that underlies it.
In order to understand the phenomena inherent in the convergence between theoretical frameworks, organizational mechanisms and pastoral orientation, leadership forms and processes, and governance models of Catholic social institutions, methodological strategies focusing specifically on areas of Practical Theology and Management, on the documents of the Magisterium as part of the research theme and on the analysis of the interviews to be carried out in the light of the theoretical sources, the Church's thought and the research previously carried out.
