Tuesday, April 12, 2022 - 16:42

According to the article, the importance of this symposium, dedicated to the theme “Second Vatican Council: Catholicism from John XXIII to Francis” had to do with the “discussion of the question of ecumenical dialogue, especially from the point of view of the state of theological reflection” as well as the debate on the “relationship between ecumenical dialogue and interreligious dialogue as a qualifying point for the celebration of the reception of the Second Vatican Council”.

Quoting Carlos Luz Marques, Professor at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, the article states that the Symposium “offered the opportunity to share research and reflections on the Council, sixty years after its opening, showing how vital it still is for a Church that questions itself on how to face the challenges of this century by listening to the sufferings and pains of the world to build a dialogue of joy and hope”.
