This academic session intends to make known to the public the institution of the Abravanel Chair | de Góis (CITER | Faculty of Theology – UCP) in its institutional aspect and in its scientific and pedagogical objectives.
The session features interventions by Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prof. Amy Jill Levine and Prof. Etienne Vetö. The vast experience of the three speakers in the field of biblical studies and their recognized commitment to dialogue between Jewish and Christian traditions will provide an excellent introduction to the spirit and aims of this Chair; namely the promotion of an innovative approach in the area of Jewish and Christian Scripture studies with its openness to spaces and research modalities that have been insufficiently explored until now.
