Thematic Seminar IV: Romano Guardini, Theologian of Liturgy and Culture

4.5 ECTS / Semester / Português

In recent years a legitimate interest in the figure and thought of Romano Guardini, a German theologian of Italian origin, important personality of the culture and cycles of German, French, and Latin theology in general. The last two Popes, Benedict XVI and Francis personally acknowledge his influence. Guardini is, in fact, a great catholic theologian of the s. XX, along with K. Rahner and H. U. von Balthasar.

On the other hand, there are thematic and methodological issues that justify our interest, such as the insertion of thought theological in the intellectual tradition of the West and in the culture of its time; the intimate link between Christian personalism and culture; and the important role Guardini played in a new theological approach to the liturgy.
