History of Modern Christianity

- To know the history of the Church in the Modern Age, starting from the event that gives rise to this new time called

"modern": the Renaissance. Notice how the Holy See lives and structure on this occasion;

- Monitor and explain the emergence of a new rupture in the Church, known by the Protestant Reformation name and

escalpelizar the activity of the main "reformers": Luther, Calvin, Zwingli ...;

- Identify the specific nature of the English reality or, rather, the Anglican Church;

- To understand the phenomenon of sects;

- Monitor the reform movement of the Church, embodied particularly in the Council of Trent;

- To study the coexistence of the Church with the civil power in the period called "absolutism" (séc.s XVII and XVIII);

- Identify the various schools of thought that are rife in Christian Europe of séc.s XVII and XVIII: Jansenism, Gallicanism

and Enlightenment;

- Addressing the emergence and subsequent suppression of the Society of Jesus;

- Track the missionary outbreak of modern times.
